CARE GUIDE

One of the most beautiful things about jewellery is that it only gets more valuable the more you wear it, you put it on to remind you of someone special or when you need strength and protection. It becomes an extension of you and one day you pass it on to someone you love so that they can feel that too.

Heres a few tips so that you can keep your special pieces looking their best.

Cleaning

The best way to clean your jewellery at home is with warm water and a gentle detergent free soap, you can use a soft toothbrush to gently remove dirt from hard to reach places.

Please contact the studio if you would like to have your piece professionally cleaned with an ultrasonic and polish.

Plating

All Marbeck jewellery pieces are solid gold we do not gold plate pieces.

White gold pieces are left unplated and have a natural warmth to them 9ct white gold is closest to silver and has a slight warmth to it whereas 18ct white gold is more of a gunmetal grey. We can rhodium plate on request but please be aware that this will need to be replated every year to retain its colour.

Gemstones

Gemstones can be very fragile and prone to breaking. For engagement and wedding rings we exclusively work with stones that are an 8 and above on the MOH scale as these are suitable for daily wear and minor knocks.

Care

Please take care to remove your jewellery before coming into contact with any harsh cleaning products or chlorine and wear gloves when you are cleaning or gardening.

Take care to protect your jewellery from harsh knocks. If you have a ring with fine claws remember to bring your piece into the studio once a year to have the claws assessed and tightened to maintain the integrity of the setting.

When not wearing your jewellery, store it in it's pouch or box.

Your piece

Your piece has been made just for you, it has been handmade and my have small imperfections or signs of the maker we think this is part of what makes your piece special and unique.
